Business Need: Compaq Computer Corporation is using PubPoint as a foundation to speed their SAP quotation and sizing group. Solution: PubPoint allows Compaq to electronically gather information about potential customers via online web based questionnaires. Questionnaires are created within PubPoint, and are created by Compaq with no IT support required. With Compaq engineering expertise, custom Proposals are created quickly, reducing a 2-5 day effort to an efficient 2-5 hour process. Customers are allowed to create an account and choose from the questionnaires set up by Compaq. When finished, customers submit their answers to Compaq for analysis. PubPoint interfaces with many pre-existing Compaq tools to extract specific information about the customer's request. After the Compaq team has completed their entries for the questionnaire, a custom solution proposal is created, and presented for final tweaking by Compaq. It is then posted to the web site for the customer to view. The customer can then begin the process again by completing a new questionnaire, or editing the one they previously completed.
