Core and Add on Modules (19)

PubPoint modules contain functionality to enhance the core Content Management (CM) feature set and can be added to any implementation, in any combination.

This section lists the 19 available modules and describes their functionality. The PubPoint modular architecture easily allows their addition, at any step in the process.

This flexibility gives our customers the ability to grow their site as their business grows and changes.

Automatic Site Map (Included in core)

Automatically builds a comprehensive site map for your visitors to quickly overview and find what they are looking for. PubPoint automatically tracks changes and updates the site map as your site content and structure changes.

Shared/Multilingual Content

The shared and multilingual content module can be used to automatically update content in multiple areas of one or many sites. The content updates can happen immediately or await approval. The multilingual function keeps multiple language sites in constant synch, with no extra effort. This is a significant time saver for companies with multilingual audiences.

Events Calendar

Automatically track and show events and make available with multiple views, as a calendar, or in a list. Events can automatically appear and disappear using the PubPoint core scheduling service feature.

Newsletters (Included in core)

Email Newsletters are one of the most powerful marketing and customer communication tools on the web. Have your site visitors sign up to receive newsletters and schedule their delivery. PubPoint's newsletter wizard lets you select the content, formatting style, recipients, and delivery dates. PubPoint can also archive all newsletters on your site as HTML or PDF file formats, allowing your visitor to see content from the past. Newsletters can be sent in TEXT, Rich Text, or HTML file formats.

Image and File Gallery (Included in core)

The Image and File gallery is key to any content managed site. Site images can be stored in one convenient place for multiple uses. Published files can be Excel, PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Media, or many other file formats. Images and Files are versioned, archived, and can be scheduled to show or not show on a specific time period. The content in the gallery is controlled from the web based administration area which is a core component of PubPoint. Version 2.5 adds the ability to arbitrarily classify the files and images for organizational purposes in order to suit your particular business needs.

Link Publisher

With this module you can have a page or many pages containing links that automatically show up and disappear according to a publishing schedule you define. Define the schedule as you wish, and the PubPoint content Builder will make the changes for you.

Site updates via Email

This module provides the ability to update your website by sending it an email. That's right, your web site has an email inbox it attends to. According to the structure and content within your email messages, the web site will perform specific actions. Since email is such a fundamental and common communication tool, this module multiplies the ease of content publication.

Online Form Management (Included in core)

Empower your business with the ability to create sign up forms, service requests, surveys, or any number of other forms on your web site. This is one of the most powerful, versatile, and easiest to use modules which handles the creation and deployment of web based forms. The system automatically sends a personalized response email to the site visitor. The web based form wizard creates your forms and the associated database fields for storage. It can push the data to legacy database systems, or send you an email with the data. It tracks all responses internally and can export using Excel.

Product Lists

The products module allows you to list descriptions, pictures, inventory levels, pricing, and many other options of any or all your products. PubPoint's core data import ability allows you to import your list directly from you existing DBMS. Products can be categorized and searched. This module can be used in conjunction with the E-commerce module to allow online purchasing and tracking.

Front-end Personalization

Allows your site visitors to sign up, log on, and display personalized pages based on user profile or role based settings. Additionally, registered visitors can select to "subscribe" to content pages, and are notified with email when the page is updated. This functionality is commonly called a portal or secure area, our module is the foundation for building both.

Site Search

This module makes all content on your site easy to find using common search technology. Make the power of the big search engines available to visitors of your site.

Site and Content Replication

If you need your content replicated in a cluster, or pushed over a firewall to other sites, then this is the module for you. Or if you need to move content from development, to stage, to production, this module provides you content replication either on demand or real-time.

Discussions

Discussions, also known as forums, are key to visitor collaboration and close customer relationships. Visitors can sign up on the site to post comments and files. Then can be centralized into one area of the site, or decentralized and attached to any page of the site. The decentralized approach is common to allow customers to give feedback on product lists or recent industry breakthroughs.

E-commerce and Product lists

E-Commerce, or E-Business, is vital to extending your business to the global Internet community. This module works in conjunction with the products list module. Site visitors can select products or services, add them to a shopping cart, and purchase using secure credit card or other payment services. This module integrates with many popular merchant services, giving you a choice of your provider. It tracks orders, fulfillment, and inventory levels. Shipping charges are automatically calculated when product size and weight are known, along with the chosen carrier. This module includes a set of reports to track online sales from your site. Finally, purchases can be set to occur over a period of time, or payments, enabling rebilling and subscription based services.

Banner Management

The banner management module allows you to place rotating banners on your site. Whether you want to promote partner sites or promote key areas of your site, this module does the job. Banners can be scheduled to rotate indefinitely, for a period of time, clicks, or rotations. Click thru traffic is also tracked, so you can see what's working best.

Email Merge

The Email Merge module is used to integrate PubPoint’s powerful data/content merging capability with data from external business systems in order to send out mass email promotions. It allows for the source of email data to be defined from any SQL Server database that is accessible from the PubPoint instance, and includes the ability to parse through database fields and/or XML. Each email template may be scheduled to be sent immediately, periodically, or on a given day of the month. The system maintains a full log of emails that are sent out.

RSVP Module (Included in core)

This module provides the ability to easily put a RSVP section of events on the web site and add events as you like. The site visitors can select one or multiple events, complete an associated form with their contact information, and submit. The contact information, as well as the list of events they selected, is sent to an appropriate recipient. The list is filtered to not show events which have already occurred.

XML Data Publisher

This module allows you to access data from the PubPoint database using any technology that can post and receive an xml stream. (.Net, Microsoft Access, Windows Script, VB, etc). Permissions can be controlled using PubPoint user and group security. This feature can be used in conjunction with SSL and MNT Encryption for the highest level of security. Available in PubPoint version 2.5.

Content Reports (Included in core)

Want to know what's going live on the web site today, tomorrow, or next week? Want to know what was archived today, yesterday, or last week? Want to know what content was updated and by whom? Want to see these reports in your existing email inbox every morning at 7am, or whenever you decide? This is what PubPoint's content reports can do. You pick the report you want, when you want it, and it is there for you. This feature is only available in PubPoint v2.5.
